Information
Melinda Norris : Johns Island, SC
About Me:
Melinda graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BAIS in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in the Sociology of Children. She was side lined from teaching in the public school system by a stillbirth and then two complicated pregnancies that required many weeks of bed rest. During that time, she decided to stay at home and raise her children. For years, she was the editor of the “Wee Remember” Newsletter for Piedmont Medical Center, and is a frequent speaker at Palmetto Health Hospital to educate doctors/nurses on the loss of a child. Now, 20 years later, after raising two great kids herself, she is reentering the work force fed by a passion to reestablish the proper raising of children into our society through coaching parents and groups. Melinda is a Certified Coach in the Rosemond Leadership Parenting Institute who will be answering questions for John Rosemond on Rosemond.com, and plans to pursue her master’s degree in higher education because she loves learning and being with kids (young and old) in a teaching environment. Recently, she completed training through safeTALK for suicide alertness. Melinda has been married to Paul for over 24 years, and they have two children–Joshua who is a student at USC, and Jasmine who attends Converse College. They live in a very quiet house, now that the kids are gone, on Johns Island surrounded by live oaks and bordered by the Intracoastal Waterway. When she has a few moments to herself, you will find her reading or snapping photographs of her family and the Carolina Low Country.
