Lisa is a Certified Leadership Parenting Coach through the John Rosemond Parenting Institute. She earned her B.S. in Developmental Psychology from Christopher Newport University, has an advanced certificate in Christian Life Coaching, and has over 20 years of combined professional, volunteer, and life experiences working with children, families, and individuals in a variety of settings. Lisa and her husband Keith have been married almost 25 years and serve together as volunteer marriage coaches at their church in Yorktown, VA where they are passionate about sharing how God has transformed their marriage journey through classes they facilitate. It is actually through their journey into marriage coaching, that began in 2014, where Lisa began to feel passionate that training in parent coaching was vital to strengthening her effectiveness as a marriage and life coach. Child-centered families are wreaking havoc on marriages and society in general, and Lisa has observed the impact this has had in a variety of settings including the early years of her own parenting journey. The parent coach training with John confirmed this to be even more true. Lisa and her husband have a 19-year-old daughter in her first year of college and 17-year-old son with autism, dyslexia, and an arachnoid brain cyst who has tested everything they thought they knew about parenting. Rosemond’s parenting column, books, and common-sense approach to parenting have transformed and empowered her personal parenting journey over the years and implanted a desire to help others. Lisa is passionate about helping parents develop the skills and confidence to parent with love and leadership and enjoys combining humor and stories from her own personal experiences with the simplicity of Rosemond’s parenting approach.
