John’s book for Children and Parents
OF WIZARDS AND KINGS AND LIVING THINGS
A very wise wizard gives the three sons of the king a seemingly simple task: grow a tree. The son that does the best job will inherit the crown. Each boy takes a different approach, with a different outcome, but although only one gains the throne, all three are richly rewarded. This charming story promises to enchant children, but it also contains a valuable lesson for their parents. In that event, it qualifies as both a delightful fantasy and a thought-provoking parable.
John Rosemond is a well-known parenting expert who has written fifteen books on parenting and family issues. His weekly newspaper column has run since 1976 and appears in more than 200 newspapers nationwide. He spends most of his time traveling the USA giving presentations to parents and professional groups. His wife, Willie, often travels with him…when she isn’t playing grandmother to their seven grandkids. The Rosemonds live in Gastonia, NC. This is John’s first children’s book, but maybe not his last.
Marcus Hamilton is best known as the illustrator of “Dennis the Menace,” a job that has given him a keen appreciation for children and their sometimes mischievous ways. He and his wife, Kaye, have two adult children and three grandchildren. The Hamiltons live in Mint Hill, NC. This is Marcus’ first children’s book, but you wouldn’t know it from his most excellent illustrations.
