New Bern, NC Parent Retreat: July 30-August 1, 2020
“This is the best thing that has ever happened to our family!” – Robert and Callie from San Diego
“A truly life-changing experience!” – Frank and Delores from Hawaii
“We leave with renewed confidence in our ability to raise well-mannered children!” – William and Anna from Atlanta
John will be doing a special two-day parent retreat on July 30 - August 1, 2020 (Friday and Saturday), in his hometown of New Bern, NC.
Over the past twenty years, John has been conducting small-group Parent Retreats across the USA (including Hawaii). During these events, which he calls "re-parenting workshops," John helps parents properly understand and solve the problems they're having with kids of all ages, especially problems with discipline. Parents from all over the country have been unanimous in praising the experience.
Included in the cost of the retreat:
- Two days of teaching, interaction and Q&A with John
- Retreat materials: notebook, bound booklet of supplementary reading, and a pen.
- An informal mixer on Thursday evening at Willie and John's house
- Catered lunch on Friday and Saturday
- One hour follow-up phone consultation with John
The retreat is appropriate for parents of children of all ages. John is accepting no more than 16 participants (couples and single parents), ensuring that each and every parent or couple in attendance will receive plenty of individual attention.
|Married Parent (Coming Alone)
|Single Parent (Unmarried or Separated)
John is limiting registration to 16 people (couples and singles), and space tends to fill quickly, so we encourage you to reserve your spot today!
Please note: We cannot issue a refund for cancellations after July 16, 2020. If an attendee needs to cancel for any reason after July 16, we will gladly use your payment towards a future Parent Retreat.
The retreat will commence with an informal mixer Thursday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at John and Willie's home in the historic district of New Bern.
Friday will be devoted to a presentation of fundamental parenting principles, with a focus on effective discipline.
On Saturday, John will shift to a more specific focus, showing how the foundations he set forth on Friday apply to specific behavior problems with children of all ages and how they apply to the various individual parenting issues that folks bring to the retreat. There will be a good amount of time devoted to interaction and Q&A.

John recommends attendees stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, 218 E Front St, New Bern, NC 28560. If you are flying into the New Bern Airport (also called Coastal Carolina Regional) this hotel will provide a shuttle service for you. The church is also within walking distance of the hotel. New Bern is a very quaint and beautiful small town that does not require a car to get around, however, John recommends you take a look at locations and distances on a map to help you decide whether a rental car is necessary.
